DETAILS
Transfer from the place of accommodation by bus to the base in Tulum. Expedition in safari bus towards jungle to the fishing village of Punta Allen around 50 km. Sian Ka’an has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1986, and in the language of maya means “the place where the heavens were born”.
The entire area covers 5,280 km² and is home to various mammals. There are hundreds of species of birds that are partly endangered or threatened by extinction and over 850 species of plants. Sian Ka’an is home to 6 different species of sea turtles, 2 types of dolphins, pumas, monkeys, jaguars and the largest number of marine crocodiles in Mexico. We drive along an unpaved road through the reserve to the south until we reach a small bay, where our boat is waiting for us.
Transfer to boats. Speedboat cruise around the reserve. Our approximately 3-hour boat trip takes us through mangrove forests – first to the island of birds. There you will be familiarized with different bird species like frigates, pelicans, spoons, cormorants, etc. We can expect to see dolphins and sea turtles in the wild . We stop the boat whenever the is something interesting so that you can get a good look. Corals and many tropical exotic fishes await us, occasionally even starfish and crayfish.
Swimming and snorkel in the waters of the Caribbean Sea. Observation of the underwater life on the coral reef. A relaxing dip in the lagoon waters. For those who are interested in a photographic safari, it is available for an additional fee. In the fishing village of Punta Allen lunch will be served on the dream beach where you can relax on the sand under the coconut palms.
Return by jeep to Tulum, to the place where we started. Then return to the accommodation by bus.
